Connecting with nature: Reconnecting with self at Furey Festival 2025
Sold out, sorry 🤗
What can I expect?
This workshop, which is part of Furey Festival 2025, invites you to slow down and deepen your connection with the natural world through your senses. We'll explore practical, nature-based mindfulness techniques designed to soothe your nervous system, helping you shift from stress and exhaustion towards a state of greater calm and renewed energy. Building on this sensory foundation, we'll then open ourselves to the profound beauty that surrounds us in nature. Discover how appreciating this beauty can bring a powerful sense of joy and gratitude, enriching your mental and emotional wellbeing.
By the end of our time together, you will have gained tangible skills to integrate these nature connection practices into your daily routine, supporting your ongoing journey to a calmer, happier, and more connected life.
Who's it for?
This workshop is for anyone who wants to enhance their personal nature connection practice - but my emphasis will be on outdoor leaders who are interested in this. The minimum age is 14 years, with discounted tickets for 14-18 year olds. We'll be an intimate group, with space for only 10 participants. There are only 3 spaces left as of 17th September!!
Why attend?
The cost associated with this workshop is a donation, 100% of which will go to the Tom Furey Memorial Trust. The cost associated is the minimum donation. If you're in a position to donate more, you can donate via JustGiving here: https://justgiving.com/tomfureymt.
In common with all the other workshop providers at Furey Festival 2025, I'm "donating" this workshop. All the money raised from it goes straight to this worthy cause: helping people in financial difficulties to access training in mountaineering skills.
What's Furey Fest 2025 all about?
The organisers say: "Furey Festival 2025 is a weekend dedicated to sharing our passion for the mountains and the activities that bring us together in these incredible landscapes. Whether you’re just beginning your outdoor journey or an experienced instructor seeking CPD opportunities, this event is for you!
Throughout the weekend, we have a fantastic lineup of sessions, and we hope at least one or two will catch your interest! From basic navigation to technical rope-work, mountain first aid to introductory sessions, and with lots of family orientated sessions too, there’s something for everyone. We’ll also explore wildlife, geology, and pre-assessment prep, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all skill levels. Alongside these workshops, you’ll have the chance to meet and connect with like-minded people, and pick up valuable new skills — all while having a great time!"
There's also a kit sale on Saturday 18th October with sale of donated unwanted mountaineering gear. All proceeds go directly to the Tom Furey Memorial Trust. I'll be bringing loads, and you can too 🤩

Every workshop at Furey Festival 2025 will have one space available FREE OF CHARGE for those experiencing financial difficulties. If you would like to attend this workshop but are not in a financial position to be able to make the donation, please email tomfureymt@yahoo.com.
